CutOut Fest International Animated Short Film Festival in Mexico is slated to host four Iranian animations.

The short Iranian animations will vie in three various sections of the ninth edition of the Mexican festival.

‘Polychrome’ directed by Negareh Halimi and Amin Malekian, Shiva Sadegh Asadi’s ‘Maned & Macho', ‘Icky’ by Parastoo Cardgar and Samaneh Shojaeei’s ‘Ascribed Achievements’ are the four animations to vie at the festival.

‘Maned & Macho’ narrates the story of a young girl's repressed emotions and instincts that are embodied in some animals that come out of her dreams. However, no one in her family is receptive to these animals.

‘Icky’ tells the story of a child in a world where people have a solved Rubik’s cube as their heads, but the child’s head is different from everyone else. S/he has an unsolved Rubik's cube on the neck.

‘Ascribed Achievements’ is about an older boy who is dissatisfied with his inborn appearance and decides to end his life. But his failed suicide leads to a new situation in his life.

The CutOut Fest International Animated Short Film Festival is a complete means of diffusion for animation and all the arts associated to it.

The festival is scheduled to run on November 9-12, 2017 in Mexico.
